Hello
About Our First Nations Offerings
At LoveAlive, we are dedicated to supporting the recovery and spiritual growth of First Nations communities through our Wellbriety Talking Circles and spiritual advisory services. Our approach integrates traditional Indigenous practices with modern therapeutic techniques to foster healing and resilience.
My Story
My name is Vince, as my parents call me. I am of Plains Cree, Scottish, and Polish heritage. My traditional name is Ochaco Muskwa Okina Wechicew, given to me by Chrystal Lightworker of the Deer Tribe, and later reconsecrated in Lakota ceremony. I received teachings from Blue Thunder of the Stalium People, who poured sweats at my home lodge in Vancouver for 23 years, with me attending 6-7 times per month for 7 of those years. He was also my Sundance sponsor for my first four years. My name at Dakota Teepee is Ichalu Nun'pa, given to me by Black Eagle.
Currently, my teacher is Darren Matalpi, who is Mahteelthphe/Ma'Amtigila of the Kwak kwa k wakw First Nation on Vancouver Island. His spirit name, Owkw, was given to him in ceremony by the late Chief Quoksistallah from Laikwiltoch. He received his spiritual teachings from the late Charles Fast Horse.

I found my ancestors through walking the Red Road, which I have been on for only 13 years. One of the participants in the Wellbriety groups I facilitated used to say, "I don’t know nothing about nothing," which always gave me a chuckle. Now, I have adopted the same saying because the older I get, the less I know, and that is why I ask so many questions.

Throughout my journey, I have dedicated myself to the service and healing of others, particularly within First Nations communities. The Red Road has not only helped me connect deeply with my heritage but also empowered me to facilitate Wellbriety Talking Circles and Step Groups. These circles are more than just meetings; they are sacred spaces where we honor our ancestors, share our stories, and support one another in recovery.
I have offered weekly Wellbriety talking circles and Wellbriety 3 hour ceremonial version of the steps that takes 6 months to complete at All My Relations treatment center In Surrey BC, Quenengital, Culture Saves Lives, and Portland Housing Society. Wellbriety step groups done in ceremony have yeilded the participants a 100% recovery rate in group of 13-20, Unheard of in typical recovery settings.

In addition to being a pipe carrier and lodge keeper with an east-facing door of the original Sioux Teachings, I host a beautiful tiyoshpaye that comes regularly to purify their bodies, minds, and souls. These experiences and teachings have led me to create the Evolved Recovery pillars, a holistic approach that integrates ancient wisdom practices to provide a peace beyond comprehension. This approach is detailed in my book, "Mastering Excellence in Recovery," which explores unconventional topics and practices often avoided in traditional recovery circles.

In my spiritual advisory role, I guide individuals through traditional practices and ceremonies, helping them reconnect with their cultural roots and inner selves. Whether through drum making, rattle creation, smudge blend preparation, or medicine wheel teachings, my goal is to help others achieve lasting recovery and spiritual growth.

I invite you to join our Wellbriety Talking Circles online through Zoom, or consider inviting me as a spiritual advisor to your community. Together, we can walk the path of healing, support one another, and find a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I look forward to the possibility of connecting and supporting your journey.

Warm regards,
